How this calculator works
X% of Y = (X/100)*Y. X is what percent of Y = (X/Y)*100. Percent change = (new - old) / |old| * 100. Increase = base * (1 + p/100). Decrease = base * (1 - p/100).
Percent change is undefined when the starting value is 0. Percentage points are not the same as percent change (a move from 10% to 12% is +2 points, +20% relative).
